Hello,

Im new to CE (and making trainers in general).
Im trying to make a small trainer for FarCry that enables unlimited bullets (and no reload).
I found the line that decrased the bullets variable it looks like this:

3550131E - 89 01 mov [ECX], EAX

I thought if I NOP:ed this line the bullet couldn't be decrased, but the game crashes when i do so (I tried CE, TSearch and my own).
Does anyone know if FarCry has some anti cheat protection or is it just me doing something wrong ?

I don't have much experience with i386 (and the rest) Assembly, but in the platform I coded ASM in the MOV instruction didn't have any significant side effect like setting flags etc. If it's the same in i386 architecture I don't understand why adding two NOPs instead of the MOV instruction would cause the game to crash or am I wrong ?

I know there are FarCry trainers out there and even a CE table, but this is for learning puprose so i want to make it myself.

Im not Spanish.

I read your topic before posting mine but you where looking for pointers I want to change the code. I haven't got to finding base pointers yet.

BTW:

is not mov [value] to EAX, it's move EAX to memory at address that ECX contains (if Im not mistaken).
