If you're talking about the newly released DLC for Left 4 Dead 2 "The Passing", you're wrong. It's Bill that dies, you can see his body with a trail of blood next to him when you're collecting gas cans for the bridge.

No its not ridiculously easy, Theres realism mode and mutation mode which are crazy hard and theres a ton of new content and levels and stuff to make l4d2 worth buying.

It's probably a bit harder than the first one, but like the first it has scaling difficulty.
Easy - "Oh god this is so easy what is this game even"
Normal - Pretty hard to die unless you are *really* bad at the game
Advanced - Should be "normal", requires teamwork and you get fucked up pretty easily by just about everything if you mess up.
Expert - You die in 5 hits from the common infected...casual players need not apply.
Of course, L4D2 alos adds "Realism" modifier which removes outlines on friends (Can't see them behind walls) and items, makes zombies only die from headshots, you die instantly if you irritate the witch, and if you die you can't respawn in closets later in the level.
