Hello
i just downgraded my PSP phat from 6.1 to 5.00 M33-4

Here is what i did.

Credits:
    Aaron516 of Afterdawn forums for pandora battery info

PANDORA BATTERY

What to use:
A small but STRONG metal object to remove the pin. i used a safety pin.
A sharp object to open the battery case. i used a pocket knife... box cutter recommended.
Some light. derp.

When you take the battery out there are some creases along the sides of the battery. You want to apply a lot of pressure to one side until there is a little hole. Take a knife and stick it in the whole and drag it until the case starts separating it. Make sure not to stick the knife to far in because you might damage the battery.
NOTE don’t apply the pressure technique to the side with the little bulge, because you might mess up the connection to the psp*

DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER PINS WHILE DOING THIS it could ruin your battery.

DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER PINS WHILE DOING THIS it could ruin your battery.

close it back up and tape it closed and put it in your psp.
If it turns on and the screen is black it’s normal. Once you put the memory stick in with the installer information stuff will show up.

If the psp says Pandora/ battery must be at 50% then charge it.
After the orange light goes away try it again no matter how fast the orange light takes to go away. If you still have the same problem you may have to let it drain. This can be done by simply by plugging the ac adapter in then turning it on then taking the ac adapter out and leaving it on till it shuts off.

I AM NOT RESSPONSIBLE FOR BROKEN BATTERIES IT YOUR CHOICE AND USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

YOU NEED TO GET ANOTHER BATTERY AFTER HARDMODDING BECAUSE IT WILL NOT WORK NORMALLY ANYMORE UNLESS YOU TAKE THE BATTERY OUT PLUG THE AC ADAPTOR IN, TURN IT ON, THEN PLUG IN THE BATTERY AND TAKE THE AC ADAPTOR OUT.

*NOTE YOU NEED TO DO THE ABOVE EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO USE A PANDORA HARDMOD NORMALY*

*NOTE IF YOU RESODDER (WHICH I HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND) YOU CAN USE IT NORMALY*

MMS (Magic Memory Stick)
What you need:
RainsUltraLiteMMS.exe i included 5.00 with this
and a memory stick. i used an 8gig.

Go to your Psp and format your stick...this will save some time... then connect your PSP or use the SD adapter

To be continued...
Code:
Rain's UltraLite MMS Maker for 5.00 M33-4/DCv8

// Requirements //
Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 or Newer
Official Firmware Update for 5.00 (Find on your local PSP Site)
Memory Stick Pro Duo 256 mb or greater recommended (8 GB and more DOES work).

// Usage //
 - Run RainsUltraLiteMMS.exe, if you are on Vista or Windows 7 you maybe greeted by a UAC Dialog asking for admin privelages.  This is necessary for IPL Injection.

 - At anytime connect the psp to the computer via USB, it should be detected automatically.  You can also use a card reader, you will have to select the drive letter.

 - Place the official firmware update file named EBOOT.PBP or 500.PBP in the same folder as the program OR you will be asked for its location during make MMS.

 - Checking format is recommended for best success however not necessary.  If formatting you can optionally backup your memory stick.  The files will be placed in a new folder with the MMS Maker.

 - Close any windows or other programs connected to the PSP.

 - When ready click Make MMS and wait for it to finish.

// Using your MMS //
 [color=red]- Put your MMS into the PSP, Holding the Left / L1 Trigger put your Pandora's Battery into the psp.

 - For trouble shooting please refer to the documentation for DCv8[/color]

To be continued... please don't rep me ...i just gathered the info and put it together here for you... if you want to mirror it...pm me the link and i will add it for you

my brother did the same thing. im not sure wat firmware he used tho. i think he used the original firmware (ver.1.00 i think) and he said something about homebrew games or something. ill have to call him later and then i will post the rest of the instructions on here. just to let u guys know in advance, itll take me several days to get all the information from him and make sure it is all correct. also the fact that he is in college and i cant find a good day to call him.
