3DsMax glow is not really good, but there are techniques, for example to get 3d light emitting there is a Vray material called Vray light, it makes your object super bright and start to affect the 3D environment with the emitter light but for it to look right you will then need to make 2 pass renders, 1 render of the scene being affected by the emitting light object and then other render with the object alone with a proper material. then mix them up in After effects and make the glow in video post.
