Now...Ima be brutally honest, coming from the death/thrash metal genre, I have no idea how to make...or who makes, techno.

Any artists or anything I should look at?

go to newgrounds, there are lots of amateurs and loooots of diferent styles.
start there.

on how to make, if you want I can help you if you decide to use Fruity Loops, if you want to use Reason I think Cryoma is the one who is experienced with it and well I dont really know anyone who uses cubase.

well I'm already set up with FL Studio (if there's better, I can get it) and a top of the line ReFX Nexus synth.

I was toying around with things...still ALOT to learn tho. Thanks for the advice gogodr.

for trance I suggest you to get VST Vanguard and if you get your hands in a VST Toxic biohazard or VST Poizone please share it with me.

that for melody and harmonic electronic instruments.
for electronic percussion is kind of different, I think FL comes with some samples of some good hit sounds for electronic music you can use with some filters on a special separated channel maybe.

or check out if tehre is any percusion for electronic music from EZdrummer.
EZ drummer: drum kit from hell is a really good pack I would recommend you to get anyways.
