It looks like the XFX NVIDIA GTX 480 is available for pre-order this morning at SabrePC for $679.99! The GeForce GTX 480 is listed as having 2GB of GDDR5 memory, but no other specifications are mentioned. This is the very first GF100 'Fermi' based video card that we have seen come up for pre-order. Could this mean that a launch is less than a month away?

Why even look for Nvidia. ATI is going to rape there cards.

But i think they might come in a month or two.
There probably getting ready to do some advertising and such.

I rocketed over my budget with the computer I built by getting a 5870, there's no way I'll ever get a nvidia card.

I don't want to brag too much, but I can play crysis on almost all top settings at 1680x1050

Give us a brief overview, my school work laptop's sound doesn't work and I'm too lazy to walk down two flights of stairs to my office. Is he trying to say that ati or nvidia is better?

comparison to the HD5870 the GF100 running the Uniengine (( remember this was made specially to test the DX11 features ))
average fps
HD5870 : 27 fps
GF100: 43

at nVidia stong things like physics, ray tracing and tessellation the GF 100 is 4 to 6 times faster than the HD 5870

ahahaahh

yeah it won in a hilariously tessellation bound benchm.ark. no game is going to overkill it nearly as hard, ever. this means NOTHING in games.

benchmarks != games, not even close, ever.
