modeling time 10 minutes. primitives, bend modifier and boolean operations.



rendering time 20 seconds.

boolean operations are horrendous. they will mutilate the mesh, better off just creating the geometry manually. shift drag a selected edge.

you need to know when and how to use boolean in 3DsMax, yeah 90% of the time boolean operations ruins the topology.

move the canisters around a bit, the stack looks abnormally neat...
But it's a great piece.

Basically what he said. It would look better I think like if they were jagged and out of place instead of prim and proper.

I'm no expert on 3D, but I would suggest making the metal a bit duller if possible, It looks unrealistically reflective.

I made it for sake of speed modeling. all my speed modeling practises wont have realistic renders. because what I want to see is the modeling and not the lightning nor material.

remdering something with proper lightning and materials takes time.. this render was rendered in less than half minute.
