When does it freeze? Does it freeze when Windows boots, or before that.
Is he able to see the Post/BIOS/BIOS Image?

It freezes when windows boots, the bar freezes half-way through the boot up.

I'm assuming you're the "friend" mentioned in the first post.
Do a repair install with the setup disk. If it still fails, reinstall Windows completely.

When booting up there should be something that says "F# - boot options". Else you'd have to enter the BIOS and adjust the boot priority.

aight, i got that far it says "Windows is loading files " THen after it's done loading it goes back to the boot-up, therefore freezes

Try downloading SpinRite on your computer then burn it to a disk and then let it do a check...
Maybe the hard-drive is corrupt or dieing.
