Also you didn't add the download for the plugin, and Valve has updated L4D2 demo multiple times to remove features that this plugin enables.

If you use the no steam l4d2 demo it will work. (It works for me)

Why would I download a 3.6gb game NOT from Steam to play by myself, when I could download it from Steam and play with my friends?
