The idea of this is it's on a floating platform in one of those weird netherworlds. How the heck do I draw the sky though?



Everyone is so nice and easygoing here at CEF.
I really have no idea if these shadows are in the right place. They look okay now, but I would like advice.

due to the angle, it is impossible to draw a sky unless you make it more horizontal and can create a horizon point in the background.

Also, this is an impossible shape/form/structure/whatever.

That is quite the point of it. Also, it's really high up and there really isn't a ground, so how is it impossible to give texture to the bg?

You're looking from the sky to the ground.

Sort of like in Diablo where all you see is the floor and what's on it. You can never see the sky because you're looking from the top to what's under.

The saturated colors are really jarring, as are the black borders. One of the many facets of pixel art is color limitation, usually being 16 colors. I could go on for hours, but I recommend you go through some good works at pixeljoint so you can get a bit of a perspective.

Not at all, it's just an illusion from that angle, but it's totally plausible to create.
