Well I managed to get Windows XP but some reason the computer isn't detecting the internet so I can't set it up. What's wrong?

1. find your ethernet card name
1a. if you can't find it and you have a premade computer, google 'model name + ethernet drivers'
1b. if you built it yourself, how do you not know?
2. type 'name + drivers' into google

Download CPU-Z.

Most users who install Windows 7 don't need to do this anymore, at least I don't. Windows 7 automatically finds all my drivers and downloads them for me.

this is why Microsoft doesn't support XP anymore. It's over 8 years old and has no driver support when you first install it. Anyway, like most people said, just google or go to the manufacturers website for your card.

Paradox: he's missing drivers for his network card, and he needs to download them from the internet.

Check if your network card is disabled first, in device manager.
