something small, white font on black background, about 700x150, make it say "ASCIICAT" in courier/new font
a cool thing you can do is duplicate the font layer and add a glow, then make the first font layer text colored black and it will be glowing awesomely
Oh yes and make the font big, like 72 or something that fills up most of the banner.. add some stuff if you want but make sure it doesnt cross over the edge

It is a banner for my site

Well i was bored so i did 3 copies here they are
Notice the first one looks 3dish the second one glows a bit and the third is like glowing bright red

I like that second one, if you'd make the background more interesting, I'd definitely use it.
