Because if so, wouldnt it be better to just pay for .com?

Yes they do.
You see, org is an organisation, and com is a company.

This I already know. But .org is less common, its more intuitive fore people to type .com.

.org domains are usually half the price of .com, hence why people buy them in the first place. Plus, with some domains, I feel .org rolls off the tongue nicer, which is another contributing factor as to why I bought it.

All I can say is always buy your domain from someone different than your hoster.
That way if they ban you for hosting warez, you get to keep the domain.
