Basically I want to convert a Jpeg to a word document AND still be able to edit it in word, like the lines and change the words around etc

IT doesnt just have to be jpeg, multi converter would be nice but remember I would still like to be able to edit it

For an example I scan a letter that has been typed up
I want to convert it to word document and be able to edit that letter

Doesnt matter if it costs money
I just need it for my dad

Which program would that be?

Thanks in Advance!

If you want to Scan a document as a word document then you would need OCR Software.
Microsoft Office 2007 has OCR software but it has to be manually installed by following this Microsoft tutorial

If you have an Image, you can simply covert it to tiff by Opening the png/jpeg/ whatever image into paint and save as a tiff file.
Then follow the previous Microsoft Tutorial to insert it into Word or w/e...

Office 2008/2009? There is no such version of Office...
You most likely have either Office 2003 or Office 2007...
Some of you may possibly be beta testers of 2010 but If you don't even know what version of Office you have then I'm certain you aren't one of the special beta testers...

Personally, if Microsoft Office can do it, then I'd recommend it...
No point in installing new software for something that can already be done with your current software....

To convert Image to .Tiff use paint...
To scan use Microsoft Office Document Document Imaging...
To Word Process use Microsoft Office Word...

You definitely have Paint and Word, the only thing you need is Document Imaging which you can get Manuel following the above tutorial...

Can't you just drag the jpeg image into the word file?

No, Microsoft Office Word would use it simply as a single Image, which basically can only be dragged and basically edited.
With OCR software, the OCR scan's an Image, and calculates what is a letter and what is an image etc... Then it converts it to a Word Document file so that you can continue to edit it freely...

So with Microsoft word 2007 I can just scan a document as a jpeg and use the OCR ?

Or do i need to directly scan it as a word document
