|
|
I've been trying to hack Halo 2 for some time now but as soon as the debugger gets attached to the process, the game crashes itself.
Also, I tried unchecking the 'Try to prevent detection of the debugger' option, but this pops up a message from the game saying that it doesn't allow debugging...
Any way to debug without the game knowing or crashing?

LINK
Just copy the .dll to the folder h2 is installed too.
Delete the dll if you wanna go online or to mp maps.
Dont even attempt to go on live or network or your game will crash.
Cant remember who made it

Hm, so it really is just the debugger that causes the crash?
I guess that means I can just find the damn code, then restart the game without the debugger.
Thanks!

Have you tried enabling kernelmode debugging and then using only "find what accesses" and "find what writes" ? (do NOT attach the debugger)

The xlive.dll detects CE no matter what.
Even if the debugger doesnt attach, it still detects it somehow. Takes alittle longer but still.
sven3107, just use the xliveless.dll! Thats the only way you can fully use the debugger.
I wish i had it when i hacked h2. i did most of it without debuggin.

Well, I've tried to hack halo2 without CE but it still detects the fact that opcodes have been modified somehow...
I've noticed that if you use CE to nop an address fast enough, it acutally works, but as soon as you really abuse the result of nopping a code, it detects that there's no difference between the current and previous value.

Static pointers and player structure is the only way to hack this game. Nopping opcodes fails 100%. Doesnt matter which method you use to do it. The .dll will own you everytime unless you disable it or code around it.
Heres some static MP/SP pointers for you to try

Just random stuff i saved to a .CT from awhile ago
