I'd upgrade but my computer doesn't support windows aero. :/
So when I get a new comp, win7 will be on my computer in a heartbeat.

Have been on Windows XP x86 for many years now, never went to Vista because my dad thought it was shit because he believed all the people that said so. Now that I have my own computer, I'm using Windows 7 x64 and I love it.

This is what I've used in my lifetime.

Windows NT 3.11 - Replaced by Windows XP
Windows XP - Replaced by Windows Vista
Windows Vista - Replaced by Windows 7 RC1

Personally, I always like the latest versions of the Windows Series...

Windows 7 will do to Vista what XP did to Me.

Just for the hell of it, I installed the 32 bit version (v7100, RC1) on my friend's remarkably old laptop (Dell c610: 1.2GHz PIII, 512MB of SDRAM, a shit 16MB graphics chip, 40GB 4200RPM HDD) and, lo and behold, it ran better than XP. Had to disable the Aero theme on account of the low graphic memory however.

It's still bested by Arch Linux, which I suppose is a given, but the owner of the laptop isn't too tech savvy so it'll have to do.

Windows 7 is win.

Vista Ultimate was also good, but I really like the feature on Windows 7 when all the programs hide in their icons on the taskbar.

Microsoft listened to their customers for windows 7, unlike windows vista.

Vista got a bad reputation because of the laziness by developers and hardware used during that time.

Developers were too lazy to create drivers or software that will work with Vista while they have like 5 years to do so.

Brick n Motar stores sales personals we're not informed or too dumb to do their own research about the hardware requirements to have a better Vista experience. They go on and sell off a $499 machines to customers where they expect to run Windows Aero, but the system is not capable of doing it either it's pre-installed with Vista Basic (lacks Aero), or Home Premium but the hardware such as video ram is too weak to run it anyway.

Customers should have done their own research too, cause those sellers in their are idiots!

If Vista came out now, its reputation may be different than it was before.
