I have a simple question regarding Halo 2; is it possible that there is an address that corresponds to if a shotgun is in possession? ( 0 - shotgun is in possession; 1 - shotgun is not in possession)
If said address exists, would it be possible to change it to 0 if it's 1 to instantly obtain a shotgun?

Perhaps.
But it's also possible the game spawns a object of gunShotgun in the inventory of the player, and if the shotgun key is pressed it check if there's a object of type gunShotgun in the inventory, and if so, call it's render options.
Of course, this is just a possibility, the game might as well just use a simple boolean of 0 and 'not 0' (note that 'not zero' does not mean 1)
Or in a bad case it uses one single byte for all weapons (if there is a max of where each bit in that byte determines if you have that weapon or not _________________
