what are reasonable sizes for the scanbuffer?
i have a 10240kb scanbuffer and higher priority for CE, would it be reasonable to enlarge the scanbuffer? (i have like 150MB ram free for it if necessary ). Does it depend on the size of the program/game to be cheated if that is reasonable? what would be a good value (meaning not wasting too much but also improving speed a lot: i mean a good buffer/speed ratio) ? or would it be reasonable to use all free memory as its scanbuffer? and is improving to realtime priority any usefull? it only slowed it down for me and (of course) caused instability at other programs
thanks in advance

I don't know it exactly myself, I only know it depends on the free RAM you have (no swap) and the speed of your hard disk.
I assumed at first that a big scanbuffer would be faster, but thats not always the case. Sometimes a scanbuffer of 1K was faster than 512KB (bitscan)
It's also got to do a little with windows spending resources over multiple processes, I've noticed that sometimes a scan doesn't take up more than 50% of the CPU. (that can be due to slow memory on a 3GHz system)
In short: Experiment and see whats best.

of course no swap RAM....who'd want swap space for performance, i prefere my DDR and i've got enough
when enlarging it to 10MB i got a huge speed boost, it took like 1/2 of the time it took with 1/2MB so i assumed the bigger the better, but that seems to not apply? okay thank you for that information i'll keep trying then and also try with smaller ones thank you very much, you're too kind
