Make sure you're on an administrator account. If it still doesn't work, you have to restart the computer. For me, I'm always on an admin account and I get that error ALL the fucking time, but it might work for other people.

It will either say access or denied or it will say the file is open, when it's not open and I fucking KNOW I have permission. Either restart your computer or restart Windows Explorer.

If you get the "Make sure the disc is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently used." kind of diagnostic message, usually you just have to kill the process. If it's the case, you're still running the application. Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) will usually do the job.

A system restart will usually yield the same results, unless the process is started up again (assuming that it is an executable process in the first place).

Open cmd and type this:

del "c:\exampledir\examplefile.txt"

Replace it with the path of the file being deleted.

If you're removing a whole directory use rd.

Make sure you have admin privileges.

doing it through the command line doesn't change anything, you'll still get access is denied. Rolling Eyes

what version of windows do you have? and you do realise that you have to delete it after it's unlocked, unlocking it doesn't delete it. and you could try restart.
