Sata you should only need 1 for each hard drive and possibly 1 for your DVD drive. No more than that.
I.E If you have 2 hard drives and 1 DVD drive, 3 should be plenty. |

SATA cables are only used for harddrives and cd/dvd drives like Frost said. _________________

Most of the time, they're included in retail box motherboards, HDDs, and optical drives. You usually don't need to buy them. _________________

Same. My mobo came with a lot, at least more than I'll use. _________________
