Well, I'm kinda in a dilemma here. Before, I had too little brushes to do anything, now I have too many. Wondering if someone had a good photoshop brush set that they would be willing to send me.

Example:

That's my brush set, too unorganized and I can't see half the brushes. Since we don't have a GFX area, and since there was a digital art showcases sticky, I thought this would be the best place to post.

Help a guy out?

Thanks,
~DKM

Well first off, go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Brushes

Might vary on what version + OS you're using.

Try some out and delete the ones you don't want.
Rename good ones to simple names like "Splatter" "Grunge" "Grunge 2" "Abstract" etc, etc.

Obviously you already know where that folder otherwise you wouldn't be able to upload.

I suggest you do something similar to me, really useful.

@ Bold: Yep, I know where that folder is, but I can't really think of what to delete and what not to delete...

@ Darker Bold: Wait what? Something similar to you...? *confused*

EDIT: @ Darker bold, nvm, just saw the pic.

Basically, either take the time to go through them and rename the ones you keep, or start over with ones you know are good and lots of others use.

Exactly.

In the folder the names are all the same as on photoshop, so once you've found a set you don't like, go into the folder and delete.
Then, after you've narrowed it down so you have ~30-50 (plenty, if not too many) rename them.

From what I can see of that screenshot, you'll have plenty of very similar brushes. Take about 2 or 3 of your favorite of that type and delete the rest.

Would be nice if you could use folders to organize them.

I use folders to organize mine >_<

When I get brushes I usually get lots at a time. I'll get screeny and edit in a second

EDIT: Nevermind, I was thinking of fonts. You do know you don't have to load your brushes from that directory, right? I just have all my grunges in one folder, abstract in another, blood in another (not creepy stfu) and so on. That way I can delete all of my brushes whenever I want to go on a certain streek (like I'm all grunge for a while Very Happy ) so I deleted all of my brushes and just did the ones in my grunge folder Smile

As long as you don't abuse them there's nothing wrong with having a collection of brushes, just organize them into folders and you'll be fine.

So you mean, after keeping them into

Code:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Presets\Brushes

I can organize them into folders? So you mean, select "New Folder", make it abstract, keep all abstract brushes into there, and I'll see a Photoshop thing called "Abstract"?

I thought you couldn't do that. Confused
