I got a packet editor and I have no clue what I'm doing. I got some WPE Pro and I've tried some stuff with Street Challenge But so far I'm feeling a lot like a n00b trying to do this so could someone give me some pointers here?

Edit: I'm going to go and try packet editing Adventure Quest right now.

the first thing you have to do, is identify the packet, seeing if its encrypted or not, if it uses a counting mechanism (example)

40 00 36 cf 00 00 40 30 31 <--- keeps sending packet with the number
if it doesnt follow up the last packet thats sent its invalid

if you want to edit a packet you need to know what a certain packet does first otherwise you'll be left in the dark

try doing some actions and check packets sent, see if there are any changes, its all pretty much about how you can interpret the packets and you'll probably get more used to them once you mess around with it more

if the packets are ALWAYS different its encrypted/encyphered and you wont be able to bother with that yet

you will really have to teach yourself, and you should begin by identifying what packet does what, and sends what kind of info to the server good luck

Yeah, I was trying to do AQ and there was some encrypted crap <ninja2> was before it and I'm completely lost, I'll work at it more tomorrow. I have to go to work now.
