I am currently a Junior at high school in Floral Park, NY. Where education is at is finest (top colleges look at Long Island more than any other area of the United States).
My intended major is Secondary Education, for I want to become a History Teacher (9-12). I really want to be a part of the SUNY Binghamton experience, seeing how nice their school is and how prolific their education system is, seeing how three of my current teachers are from Binghamton. The only problem is that I can't afford it on my own, therefore my parents want me to go to CUNY Queens. Great education program, but from what i heard, people don't like it there. I'm sure I won't even like Queens College because of how many people there are in that school.
My question is, would you go to CUNY Queens or SUNY Binghamton. This question is directed to those who live in the State of NY, but people could put their input.

SUNY > CUNY |
Saying it outloud doesn't mean anything.

If payment weren't an issue, I would choose SUNY, obviously.
But I'd say do what you need to do in order to get the money for SUNY, and if you can't, go to CUNY until you can.

I was planning to get financial aid. My mom, since I live with a single parent, makes less than $20,000 a year, I'd probably get some Aid. Also, Student loans is what i'm going for also.

If you're determined enough, try out for a scholarship.
Also, why does the amount of people that go to a college ruin the experience? Most of the time you'll be studying (I would think).

Well originally, I was going to Penn State for Football, but I decided that I would not do that and focus more on what I want to be in life, and that's Education. I just want a good school, seeing that CUNY Queens is full of cliques that I am probably not going to fit into, but is teachers suggest I go there. I really want to go away though.

Im in the same predicament, I would just say stay in the city but pick a different school, you can probably get into brooklyn college, baruch or Hunter easy. Also it depends if you wanna leave your family or not, I know money is an issue but there are always ways to reduce the cost. IF your going to be a teacher, I think it isn't worth it going so far out and spending so much money... as for me Im lost on where to go or what to do but Im probably gunna go to those schools I mentioned above... or Buffalo or genesso.
P.S.- Don't rush man you still gotta worry about the SAT if you didn't take it yet and you still got till Senior year.

| Well. As what other people have said go to SUNY as it has better education, which means that your future will be better, but money is always a problem either if you have lots or less. Still though i suggest you go to SUNY.
