well I just wanted to ask if anyone knows of a way to alter the path MSN Messenger uses for emoticons, or actually the entire profile folder/object store.

For example the current default directory is C:\Documents and Settings\EpicGeek\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\me@me(dot)com\ObjectStore


and I would like to, if possible, move the directory to somewhere else like say;

D:\Messenger\me@me(dot)com\ObjectStore

But I do not know what file has this data inside it in order to edit the configuration. I have tried to search the registry to find it but was unable to locate it, then tried searching the MSN directory for a config file that tells it to look here for the directory path and was not able to locate one.

Is there any method I can use to alter the directory path, either directly through a file edit or through a memory hack?

Any tips and suggestions would be appreciated
any tips on alternate open source MSN-Like chat clients would
be appreciated to.
