What did you think of Day 1?
I thought it was alright, even though I wrote my part B essay on page 3 and 4 of the Part A section. ):

Friend didn't finish her 2nd essay.
My school is retarded, they are making us take it in June.
Math B regents was decent. I did well for someone who didn't pay attention for two semesters.

| First part was pretty easy. Second part was okay. Third part got pretty hard, that article on Charles and Hobbes and the other on Roald Dahl. The extended response was hard but the essay also was troublesome.

Close, but think of it this way:
If you don't pass a final, you get a lousy grade.
If you don't pass a regents exam, you get a lousy grade AND you have to take summerschool and another regents exam AND you may not pass the year AND it will be on your college transcript....

During my time when I took the regents this is how it went or at least how I remembered it.
A Regents exam is part of a requirement for students in NYS.
All courses taken will be given a final and a regents exam, while some courses will require the student to pass all of it before their even qualified to even take it.
Failure to pass the regents exam means a automatically failure in the course and a repeat is necessary.
If a student did not pass the amount required regents exams then they are not allow to graduate. If a student is held back just because of one course he or she must take other course as well such as PE even though it's not needed.
A passing grade for the regents is 55 and above.
Students wishing to obtain a "Regents" Diploma needs to have all of their regents exam with a 75 or above including foreign language.
To break it down it goes like this
Graduation requirements during my time
At least 2 passing regents for Math
At least 2 passing regents for Science
Must pass all english class (6 of them)+finals+all regents exams (No borderline passing, need to get 75 or above)!
History (can't remember that much about its requirements, but you still need to take it)
Foreign language (optional) you need pass all 6 levels+finals and regents exam with a 75 or above to obtain a "Regents" diploma.
If you did good, then it will help you with your college as you can get exempted from it.
e.g. Lets say you took foreign language and you pass the regents, then some colleges will let you be exempted from take foreign language again once you get in.
