Sophomore Year
Congratulations! You are in your second year of high school, almost halfway through your high school career. If you didn’t have an opportunity to participate in those activities as a freshman due to a busy schedule – maybe there is room this year. Continued participation in activities demonstrates a level of commitment, dedication and leadership. Commitment, Dedication, and Leadership, sounds like good qualities to have and demonstrate to a college admission counselor, an employer or possibly a military representative.
From freshmen to sophomore Though your freshmen year is now history, your academic and extra curricular accomplishments are part of your high school record. It is time to assess these accomplishments and establish your goals for the new school year. Remember that counselors are always available during the lunch periods. Remember, take advantage of the numerous academic and extra-curricular opportunities offered to you as you pursue your personal and career goals.
You will continue to build on your College/Career Profile and explore a multitude of opportunities available. Sophomores will start to look more closely at what interests, aptitudes and abilities you have utilizing the COIN program that students were orientated to in seventh grade. We hope that parents and students will take the opportunity to access the information collected since seventh grade in the COIN program via their home computer. Please contact one of the College/Career Center counselors to find out how to access the COIN program from home.
