Skateboarding - Police - Trespass Warning

The reason why this thread was started?

Who: Zac (Me), Michael (Friend), Nestor (Friend 2), NC (Nestor's Cousin)

Your probably wondering that. I'm 15 years old, attending a high school in Washington. About a week and a half ago, I was skate boarding at the high school. There were 3 skate signs claiming that skate boarding wasn't aloud. I don't know why, we ignored them, but we did, and that was a mistake. A "Asian man (Works for our school district)" walks up, he specifically said "Hey, you guys can't skate here, sorry". But he spoke like he was being cool, and so, sense he was cool. So were we, we left about 2 minutes later, we walked over to our back packs picked them up and left. We went into the parking lot, and sat down. We waited for our friend Nestor to arrive. When Nestor arrived we started to skate board again, but in the parking lot. The one hundred percent truth, we thought the parking lot was public. Apparently, its not, even though Jean, a former facility member of the school, said that the parking lot is public. Its quite obvious, why would we want to get in trouble? Were not trying to be bad asses, were 4 normal kids, who enjoy the out nature of skate boarding, and staying active. About an hour into skate boarding, we took a break. Sat down, and started drinking Gatorade. About 5 minutes later, a cop pulls up. I have no information on who exactly that cop was. All I know of, the school knows who he is. The police officer told us to sit down on the curb, so we did. He told us about skate boarding in the school was prohibited, we understood him. But obviously he was too dull to understand that we knew that, that's why we left. When the cop was talking to us, the Asian guy who told on us, was laughing and turning his face like he was trying to hide it, but it was obvious. There sick. I'm not going against the cop for doing his job. After this, he gave us this little cards, he asked us to right down our address, name, phone number, ect. We all filled it out correctly, and accurately. After this, he told us to leave, so we started to walk back to my house. About a week later into the school, I was called into the office. Mrs. Val***, called me in separately from Michael and Nestor, they both got a Trespass warning from the school district. About an hour later, I was called in, she gave me the same thing. She also said, quote "Who was the rude one, to the cop"? . As soon as I heard this, I almost threw up. None of us were rude, were barely spoke, we were so struck that there was even a cop needed. I asked Mrs. Val*** if there was any way NC (Nestor's Cousin), could not get it. I honestly believed he didn't deserve it, I think he's too young to have to deal with such a punishment. He's a 7th grader, I'm sure he had no idea what kind of deal this went into. She said quote "No, its not her business", so I took her word for it. Then I found out, he didn't get one, which was exactly what I was hoping for.

Add On: How was he racist?

This may not seem very racist, but coming from a cop, just isn't right. My friend Nestor is Mexican. Quote "You look like a bad ass, are you a bad ass?", "Are you in a gang or some thing?".

For Michael and I, we both look Asian. He asked us if we break a lot of boards. If your smart, you'll see the joke... Asians doing karate.

What did this Trespass warning mean?

The Trespass warning states, after school we have exactly 10 minutes after 1:50 PM (When school ends) to leave school compass, or we will be arrested on sight. We also cannot arrive at school before 7:00 AM. Clearly, I don't think any of us did deserve this.

What does a Petition have to do with this?

I want to start a petition, stating "That we should have the Trespass warning taken off". Why? I honestly believe that we don't deserve it. Likely, it was our fault for our mistake. I know it sounds completely out of line, but I want this, because I want my rights to get out of school, go to the library, talk with my friends, anything. I can't even go to school games without permission.

What the hell? You have to get off the school campus at 2:00 or they arrest you?

That is some gay school, also think you don't deserve it.

Assuming the story you're telling is the "truth and nothing but the truth" then you should have bought a recorder to have evidence saying you guys we're never rude to that cop.

Where did she heard that story from?

You do know that some walkman allows you to record and they cost like 10 bucks (not including cassette tapes).

Too bad in this day and age of MP3 players, iPods and other digital craps finding one is difficult.

Some cell phones have voice recording and you can use that, but you will need to check with your state law to see if audio recording can be presented as evidence or cannot because its illegal.

The cellphone I have has voice recording, monitoring, and conversation recording.

I think cops are like that.. When I use to live in Orlando, I was skipping class, almost off campus skipping but technically we were still on campus.. and the campus patrol/cop/guard/w/e came and handcuffed us and asked my friend (puerto rican) if he had any drugs on him and searched him. Then the other cop, (white one-- there were 2 one white and one black) asked me where my graphing calculator was.. (I'm asian.).
