Mac is best for people who don't know anything about computers and stuff
but basicly its same then linux, if you know much linux is better
windows is worst except for gamers and the price if you can't afford a mac
for servers its just stupid to use windows.
You gotta use linux and know much SQL/PHP and stuff _________________

because you've never used one or you listen to what other windows fanboys say.
windows: supports pretty much anything and plays games.
OS X: supports a lot of professional apps and does a lot of every day things far better than windows, besides from games
Linux: free as in freedom etc. but open sores apps look like cheap knock off versions. _________________

Not true.
Windows only supports things made for the specific windows version you use
Not even VISTA doc, powerpoint and excels are compatible to any other version.
Software made for XP gots 70% not to work on VISTA and the other way round it's 90%.
Software that needed DOS (made for non-nt systems) dont runs on win-NT
=>Software from below XP will not run on XP or above (90%)
Result: Windows isn't windows compatible.
While Linux/Mac are fully compatible cause you can usually just compile things for yourself
(just that you cant get the apple software)
You can install nearly any linux software on apple's
When running linux all distributions are compatible with each other and the most important windows files are running on linux too
Result: Linux is compatible with anything. Mac is compatible with anything. _________________

holy fucking shit you're hilarious.
I'm talking about hardware when I say windows is compatible with a lot more shit, also I'm sure your statistics are bullshit since XP is just windows 2000 with themes and vista is just XP with aero, DX10 and UAC _________________

Macs = BSD for dummies; semi-pro home studios (advanced-level video and photo editing)
That's about it.
LOL, garfield's post.
32-bit Windows' executable files will almost always be cross-supported over different x86 Windows NT versions.
You can install Office 2003 on Vista I believe, but Office 2007 does have native backwards compatibility to older versions of Office if you're not a nut head. It's not "Vista doc" at all, more like "great-compression Office doc".
Obviously, software in DOS doesn't work in Windows, it's a completely different kernel with a GUI (!).
Both Linux and OS X use similar kernels (OS X is a hybrid of the Mach kernel and OpenBSD-tracing back to Unix), and Linux is an extension of Unix, thus their file systems are somewhat similar. _________________
