I need a couple of major events that aided in getting India independence that Gandhi wasn't actually involved in.

so there were these british ruling over the indians. there was this one poor town in india that the british were forcing them to give money and stuff in exchange for protection. the indians didn't like this. so they challanged them to a cricket match. if the indians won they wouldn't have to pay the tax but if they lost they'd have to pay more. well the indians had this one bowler (pitcher) that had a deformed arm and his name was kutchra which means trash. it's all in the movie.
