I've got an E8400 @ 4.05GHz (just as a normal clock, it goes higher) and it runs (really) cool with a Big Typhoon --you should get an aftermarket cpu cooler, by the way-- and most games out now only use two cores. Multiprocessing aside, you can get better performance out of the E8400 than a quad-core of the same price when gaming (for MOST games).
It's really up to you, is there a budget for the CPU to consider?

I'd get a Quad, for future proofing and better multitasking...
If you play hardcore games like crysis, yes performance will run a little slower but if you can handle that performance and wait till more games run quad then get a qaud....

Any 775 quad wont be future proof, I don't know why the fuck all
talk about future proof computers, there is NONE computers
upgrades so fast so if you buy topnotch now, its going to be old in ahalf year, and be middle class once again.

That's true but then why the fuck would i spend $3000 on a PC which will get Old in a half a year... The performance difference sin't much anyway between the qaud and the duo...

And my $600 piece of crap Core 2 Quad-based computer can still max out GTA IV's benchmark (yes maxed out, at my monitor's native resolution hitting 38FPS average). GTA IV is very CPU strenuous, and it takes good advantage of quad core processors. There are a host of games including UT3, Lost Planet, and others that do use the processing capabilities of a quad core CPU.
I'd recommend a quad core with such a high-end build as yours.
