Okay, so this happened earlier today, roughly 3 hours ago. I was botting in MapleStory as usual, and was laying down watching T.V. out of nowhere, my computer shuts down. I didn't know what happened, but as anyone would, I turned it back on. What happens next is that it just turns off, and about 2 seconds later it turns back on, and continues to do that so I just turned off the PSU. I let it sit for about an hour or two, tried it again and the same thing is still going on. It turns on, turns off, turns back on and repeats.

Could you be more specific?

I'm pretty sure it's not a virus, NOD32 was scanning when I got home from school. Although, I think it could be something with my HDD.. I'm not entirely sure, but at one point I got as far as to the blue screen where it says "System is checking disc consistency for drive F:\" or something like that.. Hmm.

if its your f drive then , correct me if I'm wrong, but that for your disk. Take it out. You may have put in a bad disk. Something similar happened with my SD HC card

There's a thread, probably somewhere on the first page still, about somebody's case I/O button and/or connection to the motherboard that was faulty in some way. Could that be it? And da_dog, drive naming can be very computer-specific.

Same OP.
Don't know what the fuck is up. Sounds like you might have a faulty PSU. The disk check is to be considered normal, as sudden power loss like that could cause some damage to the disk.

What I'd do is take out the RAM sticks, see if your BIOS POSTS correctly. If it checks out, put it back in and remove other hardware. Shit like a NIC and your Optical Drive.
One of your components must be causing the issue.

Also, this isn't software related I think. Unless something, like malware, somehow fucked with the MBR.

How far does it normally get before shutting down? Take out everything that's not needed and try booting up. try booting from a cd.

Eh, I left it overnight, and when I turned it on this morning it got to as far as logging in, NOD32 was loading everything was loading, and then about 30 seconds after that it shutdown and starting turning on again. Sometimes it goes to the windows logo sometimes it gets to the login sometimes it just goes to the other menus. It's random really.

Okay, I took out the ram stick, turned on my computer and it was turning on, it just kept making long periods of beeps. I think that's normal.

Oh, must have missed who it was. D:
Can you boot from a CD into say, a live Linux distro like Ubuntu without anything happening?

Umm.. it just turns off at random periods, I doubt I'd have enough time to even boot from a disc. Also, my drive is one partitioned drive.. so..

Well what I think is that either you have a virus stuck deep in your
hardwear or it overheated badly and it is dmged. I would take it to a
specialist. Also before you do anything... try reinstalling windows with the
CD.

You don't have to install anything, just put Slax on a flash drive or something and see if it turns off or not.

Hm.. I'll try that.

I'm on the computer right now, it seems to be pretty normal, except it was reaaaaaalllyy slow at startup.. Last time I was able to do this, it did shut down for awhile, although right now it doesn't seem to be happening.. Weird, I didn't even do anything. Shocked

If you have ~256MB on a USB drive, you can do this. Make sure to back up the files that are on it already since I'm fairly certain you'll have to format it (or maybe just the MBR). You can put files back on, it doesn't all have to be for Slax.
If you don't have the USB drive space, or just don't feel like doing that, you can make a Gentoo Live CD and boot from that.
