I just got a new case for my PC it's a NZXT Gaurdian... The cord for my audio jack wasn't long enough to reach my plug in slots on my PC. I turn on my PC without them because I have onboard jacks aswell but to find they don't make sound. would anyone know anything about disabling the front panel?

you have a new case with a front panel headphone and mic jack but the cables for those don't reach the pins on the motherboard its supposed to go in?
if this is true then the front panel sound is disabled already.
did you install the sound driver?? (has to be asked..).

Exactly, sound drivers are needed.

I have sound drivers correctly installed. I mean the front jacks are still being detected as being uses and when they are in use the rear panel won't work :S can someone tell me how to disable the front?

There are a few wires from the case itself. One of them are the ones for the audio jacks in the front

Let's see if I'm understanding this...
Your case comes with an front audio cable, but it's too short and you did not plug it in.
When you hook up your speakers from the rear, it won't work because windows or audio software says front audio is being used.
If that is the case, then some mobo makers disable the front audio by placing 2 jumper blocks on the header itself.
You have to take a look at your mobo manual to find out which pins the jumper blocks goes on or else you may fry your board.
