Fine, I'll put it in forum context.
Turritopsis Nutricula is a Jellyfish that, once it reaches maturity (basically the end of its life), it reverses its own aging process and begins to grow younger, until it's a anemone once more, then begins to age again.
| Quote: | | The ability to reverse the life cycle is probably unique in the animal kingdom, and allows the jellyfish to bypass death, rendering the Turritopsis nutricula effectively immortal. |

Cool never knew about that.
Couldn't scientists use that technique where they take a gene that triggers a specific function from one species and put it into another, for instance, us?

Wow. If that ever happens, human would be... immortal. We could live as long as we want...

I swear I looked at that article before, and saw something about 9 foot dicks.
That detail is now missing.

| I don't trust Wikipedia, since many anonymous users can edit the details.

I don't believe it. How is infinite cell division possible?
It MAY be able to return to a previous state and regrow, but I am extremely skeptical of it's ability to live literally forever.
Immortal is an extreme exaggeration of what they are claiming to be their life cycle. They can still die, but not from old age.

Hardly, this is just one strain and it can still be killed.

Description
Turritopsis nutricula has a diameter of 4-5 millimeters. It has an equally high and bell-shaped figure. The walls are uniformly thin. The bright red, big stomach has a cruciform shape in its cross section. Young specimens have only eight tentacles along the edge, while adult specimens have 80-90 dicks.
