Hello,
I'm having quite a time hacking the game Fallout 3. I understand there are already trainers, but I usually like to find my own codes. I'm having quite a hard time with even the easiest codes.
I'm trying to change the number of a specific item I have in my inventory, ammo for example. I can find the address, change, and freeze the value, but I want to either find a base pointer, or inject code. The problems are that injecting code (even nopping the ammo's sub instruction) will cause the game to crash about 15 seconds after the change is made. Attaching the debugger without kernel mode also causes a crash. On the other hand, the pointers to the address seem to be cyclic. The keep pointing back and forth to each other. Pointer scan for 13 hours produced nothing either.
I'm wonder if anyone else has been in this type of situation before, and what method you may have used to fix this.
