I do believe it's common knowledge that TI (Texas Instruments) is associated with calculators, at least for those who are old enough to need to use their calculators.

As for programming on the TI-89. Yes you still can. It's pretty similar to Ti-83, but certain things are a bit more advanced. (I have TI-89 Titanium but it's probably the same for a regular TI-89). Also, if you're looking for games and programs, ticalc has a lot of good programs.

I'm not sure what you're looking for in regards to instructions. The layout is fairly similar to a TI-83 when you're programming.

Where do you live?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this forum INTERNATIONAL?
I don't know if you've noticed, but the internet is quite international.
And personally, I had never even heard of Texas Instruments until I googled "TI-*"

Yes I do realize the internet is international and I do live in the US, but from what I experienced, their calculators are not limited to only North America. It's not like there's a trade embargo. I've seen people use them in China last time I was there. Of course, I could be wrong, and there are places that don't use them at all.
