Cheat Engine

Hey everyone,
I wanted to see what the security of my school is about (should be crap) so I've got the external IP address of my school. I can ping it, but I can't seem to connect to it in any other means. Does any of you have an idea?

Well, both XD My ITC teacher sux (He's not good enough to do the job, not that I'm way better (yet)) so I thought, let's take a look at the main server, or do something fun in the logs of the router or w/e

Aww cmon, I just wanna see what I can do. It's not like in america or w/e where that when I'd get into there imma be kicked outa school. Isn't there a way to cennect to the IP adress other than pinging?

You're not 'connecting' in any form when you're pinging. All the remote host is doing is returning (echoing) your request, nothing more. A lot of servers/routers block this simple ICMP traffic, although this one clearly doesn't.

You're not going to be able to easily connect to any machine on the inside, and one major factor is the concept of NAT/PAT, which is the translation and passing of traffic from local to global (inside to outside / private to global and vice versa).

Not to be a killjoy, but if you're stuck at the 'ping' stage I wouldn't go any further. I'm not sure anyone who knows what they are doing, in the right mind would freely pass out info so you can hack into your school...
