ok so i keep getting this error when i try to IM someone

get another IM client and see if does the same
try pidgin, if it works re-install yahoo messenger

Remove the plugin(s) (BHO) from internet explorer. Uninstall and re-install. Also check the script settings in internet explorer. Try again.

Your IE script settings are probably wrong. Reset them to default, attempt to uninstall IE (only if you're running IE7) and see how it goes.
