| Will I notice a big increase in performance from a GeForce 9800GT 512MB to a GeForce 9800GTX+ 512MB?

In a nutshell then the GTX version: is clocked faster than the GT, it can be put into 3-way SLi whereas the GT can't, it has 2x Dual-Link DVI outputs and a HDMI output, of which the GT only has the one Dual-link interface, and the GTX has a higher bus bandwidth, allowing for a faster transfer. The limit is so high however you won't really notice and real-world differences with this aspect. If you're not crazy about monitors, ie. you don't need more than 2, and you're not fussed about the HDMI interface, then I wouldn't shell out that much more money for the GTX, unless you're serious about sticking a couple of these (or 3) in an SLi setup. Performance difference that is noticeable.. only a handful of FPS on average I would say. Is it worth it? Thats up to you.

On one on my comp I got a singel 8800GT and I get better preformance then most of the guys that buy 9800GTX+, I got the gigabyte zalman version, clocked to 700 and I clocking it to 745mhz.
Stick with the 9800GT you don't gain a shit.

| Yeah with all the OC'ed versions of the 8800 series at an all-time low, its silly to go for any others unless you want the very latest and greatest...

HD4850 would be the best choice, if you don't want to SLi

The 9800GT is build on the 65nm process.
9800GTX+ build on the 55nm process (non-plus uses 65nm).
Go with a Radeon card or save your money and get a better card when it comes out.

| If your card has a step-up/trade-in program, like EVGA's, then you might want to consider using it. The 9800GTX+ is noticeably faster than the 9800GT, but it isn't worth buying a whole other card when you already have a 9800GT.
