i want to learn AS3 yet i have no idea where to start...someone willing to teach for free?

It is very much like a random programming language of your choice as it is growing every day.

Example of AS3 variable declaring:
var name:String = "spawnfestis";

Example of C# variable declaring:
string name = "spawnfestis";

I do prefer programming of course, but AS3 is developing well as far as I can see. Also making games is probably the only reason it exists for, really.

Umm??...
Flash is a scripting language, meaning that it can only control what access was given to it at it's birth.
Furthermore, you can't do any outside controlling with flash, all you can do is basically games. Well you can do a lot of stuff, but i would say the main purpose of AS3 is games and online editors (html, xml, etc.).

You can't.
