Alright, this thing works fine at all of my friends house including my neighbours. I'll search some results, sometimes it will take the longest time to search, the first one is always the fastest, then it slows down considerbly. Sometimes i'll get a good amount of results, then when I do next scan it puts them all to 0. I am running on Windows 98, but that shouldn't really be a problem..

If you knew how CE works, you would also know why its slow the second time around.

But it takes so long to load after the first and second, then it just ends up with 0 results. But when I use it at everyone else's house it works fine, so there must be some sort of setting I can tweak..

What kind of system do you have?
what cpu? how much ram? how much disk space free?

You're running windows 98, so I assume not much of any of those.
Try changing the scanbuffer in settings, decrease it, set it to something like 100 or less. (default is 500kb, but if you're low on memory this might hog your system)
Also, try defragmenting your harddisk, ce creates a temp file during scan and if it needs to wait for the harddisk to find the right clusters each time a block is read it'll slow down as well
