ok...i was told to update a hack i cracked i needed to update or change the pointers?
im new to all of this CE stuff so i was wondering if sum1 would be nice enough to help me?
or tell me if this is even the RIGHT way to update a hack...
(if it makes any difference, its a CA hack)

I dont know what's CA hack, but update addresses you can do one way i remember its with Array of Bytes, you probably know that each address has its array of byes so even if they update the game you can still find the new address with scan for array of bytes or with the search in the memory view.
Also worth to try if you have one already updated address it doesnt have to be related to your hack, you can compare it with the old one and see how it changed, and then do the same to your address you with to update but im not quit sure it will work.

If you mean GHOSTER's or something, it's compiled with a .dll.
And without the source, you're screwed and really can't update it at all.
Therefore, it's useless, so, go find your own D3D hacks.

Not entirely true my man. It can be changed to work with a little reversing.
But doing this to a hack that is not your build will create problems with the original creator.
Also on a side note, if the topic starter was the person who cracked it. He would not be asking this question right now, they would already know how to do what is being asked.
