It doesn't suck at games... More and more games will be written to be multi-threaded. Some applications such as rendering applications and video transcoding apps are already multi-threaded. The performance gain is tremendous, as shown in benchmarks.

I'd get this board just for the RAM slots. You can never have too many RAM slots. As long as, of course, the board supports at least 2GB per slot Smile

"Yei, I can show off how much I get at 3dmark!! :O:O:O
Im so fkn kool 1337!!one11"

Hmm, that doesn't sound so good in my ears.
Also they overclocked and got 1000point more which is good
but not enought good for being an totaly new generations
of CPU's.

All need to think some, they are like the DUAL CORE EXTREME.
Expensive and not worth it, I wait a half year or so to get i7.

I keep my E8500's and Q9550 (2x servers) and live with them for a while.
Clocking very good with them and for games I still say DualCore.

i would say only dual core users would benefit from them as of yet.

for me using a quad this is good news that software/game developers might take more notice of people with more than 2 cores though. Currently the only thing i do with all 4 cores is xvid->DVD etc. which is great, but most of the time 2 cores are idle whilst gaming.

I definitely don't plan to upgrade my CPU any time soon, also I'll be waiting for AMD's next big thing to compare it to.

From what I've read on the web, the i7 does auto overclocking.

So, when you dont even notice it will overclock itself? Why does that seem potential dangerous...?

Maybe they/you ment something different.

Nope that is what I meant, Intel calles it "turbo" mode.

Speaking of "turbo" mode, in the old days cases have this turbo button where people would press it thinking it increased their cpu speed, while in reality all it's doing is just chaning the number on the LCD.

e.g. You have a Pentium 133MHz cpu and the LCD says 133, Pressing the turbo button makes the LCD say 266, but your cpu is still running at 133. Laughing

The board your looking at is a prototype, I'll bet they're going to come out with some ridiculous s*it when the final version arrives.

Don't know if they're going with something like their Pinot Noir.
