my old computer broke down cause of some start up thing anyway... i took 1 of the hard drives out of there and put it in this computer and its not under 'my computer' how do i search for it or find it?

ps; my old computer was dell, and this one is acer, dunno if that makes a difference

i dont no and if u tell me to formate it then how do i do that... the hard drive doesnt show up on my computer so how do i get it on the my computer list?

now, i think it MIGHT be a sata hard drive cause i read that the cable gotta be 2 inch wid to be ide

i really need help with this, i got vista and the hard drive i got now is split (c:/dSmile and it says i got e,f,g,h. but when i click it, it says plz insert cd.

so how do i get it to show on my computer,
