has anyone used it? apparently it's Vista's nLite equivalent.
I'm downloading some WAIK thing from microsoft now to be able to use it, hopefully i'll get rid of alot of the useless things (media player, welcome centre, calender, dvd maker etc.) that come with vista ultimate and i'll never need to use.

edit: nvm i thought this would just be able to remove the stuff i didn't want from my current install... it just makes a new .iso to re-install

I've used it quite some times, but I just don't like how they setup the games category. And also customized my billboard setup screen (with WAIK).
As for using vLite, it's just to slim down your new install, but it does not remove any current windows components you already have.
Note: Using Vlite will only create the version you have modified, If you want to rebuild the entire disc, then you'll have to look in the WAIK.CHM file for further instructions.

what i initially planned to do was just go through my computer (as it is now) ripping out the shit i'm never going to use like media player, calender, IE and all other uselessness that comes with vista
if i try deleting them straight from program files(x86) i don't have permission (even using hidden admin acc)

Previous OSes lets you remove it through Add/Remove windows components. For Vista it seems they've took that all out and your choices of removing certain Vista components are limited.
If I remember correctly, you need to edit a inf file located in your windows/inf folder and then you get to see the hidden windows components.
For Vista they took that feature out and you have to use vLite in order to remove it.
For 2000 and XP file to edit is sysoc.inf located in C:\Windows\inf
