Hi, how come when I do start>cmd>ipconfig I get a different ip than when I go to whatismyip.com? Thanks.

If your using a router is assigned by DHCP, that's your LAN IP the one from whatismyip is your WAN meanign your real 1

Ex: Mine
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : hsd1.co.comcast.net.
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.102 < Assigned by DHCP - LAN IP
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

Real IP:76.*.*.* < WAN

Does the 1 in ipconfig start even with a 192 or?

Well usually a router assigns DHCP but it can also in windows and/or on your internet modem maybe the case not sure. but if it starts with 192 then DHCP is in there somewhere
