8800GT will not fit. As KD said, you have an AGP slot. Buying a new graphics card with an AGP connector would be a waste of money IMO, seeing how they really are outdated. Instead, save up some money to build a new computer.

This is the most win.
Yeah, if it's possible, get a new system. AGP-based systems (with the HD 3850) are still fine for all games (including Crysis), but you'll expect bottle-necking at the CPU and RAM.

Yes, you can upgrade to a 7-series graphics card, but not an 8-series. Unless you get an entirely new motherboard with a PCI-e slot, you won't be able to use modern cards besides the mid/low end HD 3xxx series.
You already have an AGP slot, but it's older technology. Unless your AGP slot is limited to a lower speed (for example, 4x bandwidth (roughly 1.05GB/s, compared to 2.1GB/s available with the full 8x slot), you won't get a speed increase by buying anything else besides the new graphics card (but you might have a bit of a power problem). What you want nowadays are PCI-e slots.

I think its compatible with 8x speed I just checked the nVidia website and the graphic card supports 8x speed
::EDIT::
How much would a whole motherboard replacement be...?
And what kind of things will the motherboard replace?

The motherboard is basically the "heart" of the computer, so your system would be way more compatible with the newer hardware (if you get a decent motherboard). You'd be looking at getting 2~3 PCI-e slots, 2~4 memory slots, multiple SATA connectors, etc.
If you post some system specs (motherboard type/model, memory type, etc) then we could combine the hardware you already have with some newer hardware to make a perfectly-fine system. Unless you've got enough money available and just want to get entirely new system.

| Get a new computer with a pci-e slot and a 775 socket that supports core 2 quad or duo or if you want to stick to your computer get a ati 3850 AGP, not the PCI-E version. i have a agp slot but no money for a new card XD
