|
|
As soon as a newer/better processor comes out?
Every ten years?
As soon as i cant run normal programs without lagging to death?
Whenever i feel like it?
Whenever my parents feel like it?
-------
For me, i just upgraded from a 700mhz processor computer to a Quad-Core I doubt ill be making another HUGE upgrade ( besides hard drive/RAM/GFX card ) for a decade/half a decade.

Every 2-3 years you are recommended to upgrade.

| When you start to notice your system specs are the minimum requirements for new games.

Do it when ever I get a chance by selling my stuffs at slightly cheaper price and then go with the parts I want. But if I can't have that chance then it's every 2 years for a upgrade.

I have 4 years with my current machine.
It hosts a PCI-E x16 slot and 2 more slots for RAM.
I could spend some money and make it alright...
Although I'm still on single core and using 180-pin DDR...

1.75-2.5 years for laptops.
2-3 1/2 years for desktops.
Really though, every 2 years if you can afford it, I can't though...

Won't make your PC any better.
(Won't magically improve your hardware)
It'll make your pc run slightly smoother, but in most cases you won't even notice it.
