|
|
I recently bought a new PC and the brochure said:
nVidia GeForce 8600GS 512MB (Max 1900mb Shared)
How do u "make" it shared?
I don't really know much about this, so can someone explain it to me?

The feature is called turbo cache and you need at least 512mb of system ram for it to work. Windows will automatically adjust the ram for you so you won't have to do anything.

Like I've said before windows will do it automatically for you and you won't see a thing.

1900MB would be a complete waste. Your video card probably isn't even going to effectively use all 512MB onboard.
You change it in the BIOS, or sometimes by going into the device property/display window.

Turbo cache is turn on by default, to disable it you'll have to install a RivaTuner or edit a registry setting to turn it off.
Trying to find it within the Nvidia driver control panel is a PITA!

Once you exit from the game, your card will reduce itself back to 512mb.
