|
|
I recently bought a few parts from Newegg, and after I had assembled the computer, the computer wouldn't start. I checked all the cables to make sure they were in their correction positions, then I double checked it. Nope.
Then I decided the PSU was faulty, so I used the paper-clip test (one end in the green, other in a black) and the PSU worked! But here is the strange part. Whenever I connection the ATX power connector( the 12 pin) to the motherboard, it refuses to turn on. But If I jump it using the paper clip, the motherboard turns on like a charm. I have also connected the 12V ATX connector to make sure that wasn't causing a problem, but it ends with the same result, a dead motherboard.
Anyone know what could be the problem in this situation?

| I am using a 500W power supply, so I think it sufficient for this situation.

Try using it with only a 10-pin mine is a 10pin mobo but it has a 12pin slot.
