|
|
Okay guys! This is what I did :S. I shrank my C: disk. I gave it around 50 gig to install windows xp. I failed to install windows xp and corrupted my OS. I backed up..everythings fine.. I managed to put back my hardrive into C:. 2nd attempt. Failed.. This time, system recovery from my HD partition doesn't work anymore. So I use my recovery cd that I made.. when im in my OS. i tried putting my partitions back into C: and I get "There is not enough space available on the disk(s) to complete this operation". So.. now I have 2 problems.. my HD recovery partitions is screwed up and my E: (other partition that wont go back in C is screwed up.. :S any help ???

If there is nothing important on it...
Format it with a Linux LiveCD (ubuntu maybe?). Then open terminal. type sudo gparted... and format all your partitions...
Now next time you succesfully install windows you can have one BIG (GAY AL) C: drive!

I never told you to install ubuntu...
Ubuntu has a LiveCD, which means you can actually USE ubuntu straight through the CD... like.. the desktop is on the CD and you can use it!
After it boots into the CD Desktop, you can open up a terminal, type sudo gparted and delete all your partitions!

why are you using an Linux cd? just get a windows xp disk, boot it up, go to install windows. when you get to the partition screen delete all of your partitions and then create one or however many partitions you want with the unallocated space, then install windows on one of those partitions.

Nope, you can just delete partitions and make new ones without installing windows xp or w/e.

If you delete ALL your partitions, it makes them unallocated... Let me tell you this...
If you are no using Windows... there is no such thing as a C: drive or an A: drive or any letter... Those letters and "drives" where made up by Microsoft, they could be called 1: Drive if they wanted too called it that...
So, if you delete all your partitions, they are no longer a letter drive, they are called unallocated space...
Then you can reinstall Windows and all your space will be on the magical "C:\" drive...
